1. Bioenergy Processing for Sustainable Environmental Management

Increased energy needs are faced by many countries in the world. Bioenergy development is an effort to save diminishing fossil energy, while energy needs continue to increase. This is also in line with awareness of the development of environmentally friendly energy. This theme includes increasing added value from the utilization of timber industry waste, developing bioenergy from biomass including waste, forest plants and other bioenergy sources; equipment engineering, model development, economic studies, and others.

2. Waste Utilization and Management to Support Circular Economy

Waste utilization is an effort to increase added value that can increase income and as an alternative source of income that can strengthen community participation and  employment opportunities. This is in line with the concept of circular economy through careful use of natural resources in an environmentally friendly process so as to obtain efficient use of resources. The application of science and technology and  innovation appropriately are expected to be able to increase product value added. This theme includes the utilization of timber and harvesting industrial waste, solid and liquid waste management, utilization of waste processing results for biomedicine and improvement in the quality of forest products, and other related fields.

  1. Technology and bioenergy development
  2. Increasing the value added of industrial waste and forest harvesting
  3. Increasing the value added of NTFPs and biomedicine
  4. Processing waste to diversify timber products
  5. Processing waste to improve the quality of forest products
  6. Biomass utilization
  7. Other aspects relevant to the theme
